Vickie Mitchell

HSE teacher, Guilford County Schools

Vickie Mitchell has 2 years of educational experience teaching Health Science with Guilford County Schools. She came from industry with a dual degree; BS in Nursing from Winston Salem State University and BS in Biology from North Carolina A&T State University. She is a Registered Nurse of 12 years and a Certified Cytotechnologist of 13 years. As an RN, Vickie has worked in various roles including Director of Nursing for Skilled Nursing and Long Term Care, Director of Clinical Education, Intermediate Step Down ICU, Hospice, Home Health, and Managed Care. Vickie completed her teaching certification last year through GCS ACT Program. She teaches at Weaver Academy in Greensboro. She has taught Nursing Fundamentals in additional to currently teaching Biomedical Technology I and II, and Health Science I and II. Next school year she will implement Project Lead the Way for Biomedical Science at her school to initially include Principles of Biomedical Science and Human Body Systems.
