Burt Jenkins is a PROUD ECU Pirate alum who began his teaching and coaching career in Onslow County in 1989. Mr. Jenkins has been acknowledged by the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance and Sports Management as Teacher of the Year in 2011, Pitt County Schools’ Amy Carrol/Sherry Little Award Winner in 2013, and has also served as a Division 1 Assistant Women’s Basketball coach. Mr. Jenkins began his current role as Healthful Living Consultant at the NC Department of Public Instruction in 2013.
